On Thursday 4^th February 2010, 504 (West Nottingham) Squadron, Air Training Corps held an Open and enrolment evening. 

Honoured guests at the Squadron were the Sheriff of Nottingham, Officer Commanding South and East Midlands Wing ATC Wing Commander N Dickinson RAFVR(T) and Wing Staff Officer Flight Lieutenant L Waplington RAFVR(T). 

Officer in Charge Flight Lieutenant Emma MacAndrew RAFVR(T) began the evening with a brief history of 504 as many of the parents and cadets are new to the unit.

This was followed by a short statement about why the evening was being run. 

Cadets Jack Griffin, Ashley Seaford, Kayley Lawrence, Ria Smith, Hannah Smith and Adam Trickett were awarded their First Class badges and certificates, followed by an official enrolment ceremony conducted by the squadron padre Mandy Cartwright. 

There were some surprises in store for members of the squadron as OC Wing was invited to make some promotions. These went to Callum Wells – Corporal to Sergeant and  cadets Charlie Coult, Jack Coult, Elizabeth Nunley and Christopher Yorke to Corporal. As the evening drew to a close, Flight Lieutenant MacAndrew RAFVR(T) finished by saying a few words followed by refreshments with family and friends.
